Possible Interview with Dr. Phil - Thank You Salim!

Salim Khoja, President of The PowerWithin invited me to Denver, Colorado just last Sat July 29, 2006 for a chance meet Dr. Phil at The PowerWithin Event. So I hopped on a plane!

(Salim is the B-E-S-T!! It is because of Salim that I got an in-person interview with Lance Armstrong, Gloria Estefan and Bill Clinton. Mwah!)

In Denver, I had the chance to meet and connect with all three of Dr. Phil's agents. One of his agents, invited me to go to the Dr. Phil show where I may have an opportunity to interview Dr. Phil in person! So I am optimistic about having Dr. Phil’s participation in this project with a little more persistence!

By the way, everyone needs to go to at least one PowerWithin event they are AMAZING! Not only are they fun & motivational but they give you the tools to transform your life.

If everyone had a "Salim" in their life, the world would be a better place. His generosity has made a difference in my life.

Also, get this.. on my Denver trip I learned that you CAN book a hotel room without a bed through Expedia. Yes, that is right. When I showed up to the Hilton Grand Hotel they informed me they were out of rooms with "beds". (Isn't that kind of like going to a resturant and them saying they are out of food?) Anyways, I stayed in the corporate party room and slept on a roll-away. It was great watching TV on the big screen and eating all the mini-bar stuff for free.

Ha, ha!

Calling All Creative Types - Submit Your Ideas!

What does every best-selling book need? A best-selling title, that's what!

I need the help of all you brilliant people out there to help me come up with a gripping title for my upcoming book that will make people swipe the book off the shelf!

On Thursday July 27, I will be having a "Title Party" in Santa Barbara at my home where many people will be getting together to discuss the perfect title for my book. If you live in Santa Barbara, I welcome you to join us.

I would love to hear YOUR ideas for what YOU think the title should be. I will take any ideas you have and circulate them at my title party and get people to vote. If you come up with the best title, I will post you on my blog and make sure everyone knows you came up with it.

In addition, if you come up with the title that the publisher picks then YOU will be included in the acknowledgement section of the book.

Here's a tip, a good title evokes an emotional response. Also, the title needs to be about achievement or success.

Here are three proposed titles. Let me know your thoughts!

1. The Best of the Best - Today's Best Achievers Share What Got Them To # 1

2. Ordinary People That Did Not Stay That Way - Today's Greatest Achievers Share How They Become Extraordinary

3. Beyond Your Wildest Dreams- Today's Greatest Achievers Share How To Create Amazing Success

Let your creative juices flow! Even if you don't get your ideas to me for the party, I would still love to hear them!

Mega News from Mega Marketing University

I just returned from Mark Victor Hansen's (co-creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul) Mega Marketing Book University. It was awesome! I got to meet fabulous other individuals all striving to make a difference in the world and write a book.

The whole weekend was amazing!

My dear friend Gina Mollicone Long who I met up in Canada arranged for me to go! If it wasn't for her encouragement and support I wouldn't have gone. She is working on an amazing book about how to use failure to help you to get what you want in life.

Luz & Maritza Parra, a mother-daughter team interviewed me for a pod cast cast about my book! They're writing abook about woman empowering from the inside-out.

I also met Dale Kirk who is going to be my "Mega Buddy" an accountability partner for all that we learned. She is writing a book about a mentor of hers who helped her accomplish more than she thought was possible.

I had dinner with Bucky Rosenbaum, literary agent extrodiare for PurposeDriven Life, who has been a constant friend and support to me throughout my journey.

Jillian Manus from Manus&Associates literary agency expressed interest in my book and I got to meet with her one-on-one.

I also got to pitch my book to top publishers like Harper Collins who expressed enthusiasm for my book!

Furthermore, Mark Victor Hansen talked about my book project on this video. I had the opportunity to interview him and get insights from him on how he created his success. Check it out!

The Power of Whispering

Yesterday, I had the amazing opportunity to interview and spend the day with the real-life horse whisperer Monty Roberts at his ranch and home in Solvang, California. Monty Roberts is made famous by the movie "The Horse Whisperer" and by many books he has authored on non-violence.

During my visit, Monty did a live horse demonstration! I got to witness him working his magic with a bucking, wild horse. In a mere 30 minutes he transformed a rowdy animal into a tranquil friend. The horse that came in naive to a saddle was so relaxed in 30 minutes that the horse let a little boy ride him. Witnessing the experience was mesmerizing and magical. How did he do it? (This is the astonishing part). He transformed a wild animal to a friend by body language alone!! Monty learned the language of the horse, spoke to him through body language and together they became partners.

If horses are this sensitive to body language it makes me realize the incredible power of body language amongst human relationships. It also was a strong example of the effectiveness of tenderness.

I also got to interview Monty in his home and he talked to me about the importance of challenging systems, traditions and habits. Only through challenging traditional horse training did Monty develop this amazing way to communicate and spread non-violence.

Statistics tell us that 80% of all communication is body language. Do you think this is really true? Is non-violence always better? Let me know your thoughts.

Check back this weekend and I'll post up some audio and maybe some video of my experience!
