Cast Your Vote!

The way to grow our lives is to model the lives of those people who are already succeeding. It's powerful, it's fun and it's stimulating.

I've become a full time hunter of excellence, constantly seeking out the leading men and women that are creating profound results in their jobs and lives.

I was recently reflecting on how wonderful it is that I get to discover the latest thinking as well as stay abreast of current business trends as part of my job.

Then I thought... everyone should be able to do this!

So I came up with an idea of how to better connect people with ideas...for FREE. My idea is to provide people with one executive summary a month from a national best-selling business or personal development book. I can send it via email to anyone who would like it.

You see, I know lots of you are really busy and proabably don't get to read everything you would like but you also know education must be an ongoing process (especially in today's world).

Also did you know that statistics show that less than 10 percent of people who buy a book never read beyond the first chapter? What an unbelievable waste!

Therefore, I hope you will take an advantage of this FREE way to become more effective, inspired and educated.

I wanted to get your opinion of what book would be of MOST interest to you for our first executive summary. Of the following books the first 6 are CURRENTLY on the New York Times best-selling list and the last 2 are great classics. If there is another book you have been meaning to read but just can't find the time, I'd love to know the title!

(THE POLL THAT WAS HERE IS NO LONGER ACTIVE)

Awesome idea, Paige!

Ideally, we would all invest our spare time in reading business and personal improvement books...but tackling all of the worthy reads out there would be pretty time-consuming. I think this would be a great resource!

I think we should make a list of must reads though...because Dale Carnegie "How to win friends and influence people"...should not be missed in its entirety! But, on the other hand, having a quick reference as a reminder would be pretty sweet!

I love the way you think! :)

Very neat. What would make it more valuable to read is not just the summary, but some additional commentary on how you think one should apply some of the ideas - based on the success factors you are distilling from your interviews.

Ditto on Bono. :) Love the poll you used too! I want to steal that for my blog. I just need to figure out what to poll people about. I'd also like to know about Deyl's half ironman! Send me an e-mail with some info. Missed you this weekend.

OMG. Paige I totally forgot to respond to this earlier!! I am so sorry... Just know that I think you are brilliant and an inspiration to all you meet. I too like the phrase "hunter of excellence" for that emboides who you are. What is even more amazing is that on each quest you journey on, you glean from these amazing lives and in turn enrich yours even further. Thank you for not allowing all that knowledge to simply grow stagnant but to flow through you and give life to others.

Again, you are my hero Paige... I am blessed to know you!

Paige, ..I really feel like stumbling upon your blog was just meant to be for me in a way and I'd love to read something really motivational and empowering right now..I need to! :) Now, other than 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, (read a LONG time ago) I haven't read much of this kind of self-help /personal improvement type of literature.. what can you recommend I get ? I'd like something I can use both personally and professionally. Is there something that comes to mind that you think, OK you MUST read this!! ??
Thanks a bunch! :)

Dear Jen- I would highly recommend Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins as well as the classic How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Read either of the books and apply it to your life and I GUARENTEE you will experience more success with less effort. Both are life-changing reads. Thanks for asking! I hope our executive summary will help busy people like you never have book drought again! Now you will be able to stay on top of the latest thinking both personally & professionally in a fraction of the time.
