Beach Front Writing Get-a-way

I just decided 2 weeks ago that I'd like to get away to write.

So today, I am off to a private and beautiful beach house right on the sand in Oceanside, California to bunker down and do a writing retreat. It will be the perfect place to be undisturbed, inspired and alone with my thoughts.

I feel so free in my life and love that I don't have a boss, am mobile and get to do what I love. I love the feeling that I can just get up and go do what I want.

I have learned so much from the amazing people who have blessed me with their insight.

Vive Las Vegas

I just got back from my friend's bachlerette party in Las Vegas. It was a girl gone wild weekend and amazingly fun! I got back to Santa Barbara late last night. Today I woke up just before noon. (I was making up for lack of sleep Fri and Sat night. On Sat we went to bed at 6:30 am. HolyMoly) .

It was really cool because we got to fly there by a private plane. It was the first time I had gotten to fly private. It was luxury I certainly could get use to.

I feel really rejuvenated from a fun weekend. Americans are some of the worst vacationers and worst at taking time for fun. I think it is incredibly important to staying refreshed, creative and insightful.

I love that I have so many great girl friends to really enjoy life with.

Living The Dream

Dallas went exceptional. I had so much fun addressing my largest audience yet--- 700! The audience was great. They laughed, clapped and shouted out "right-on" when I said my points. I am really excited because the conference producer has said they're bringing me back for another one of their events! And we got pre-orders for the book too!

I love speaking, meeting new people and encouraging others to be their best. It is such a blast.

Below are some pictures of the speaking event and our trip.

Meet our driver Fred.

Here is our hotel. Here

I am standing next to a sign announcing "An Affair to Remember" where I am the keynote speaker!

Can you believe their hospitality? Look - flowers, chocolates & fruit in our hotel room!

Note: There was a professional photographer who captured the actual speaking event so that is why I don't have any photos of the event here. When I get the shots I will post them.

After the event was over they gave me a dozen red roses!
They gave Vanessa & I Dallas Cowboy T-shirts, which we both wore out to dinner and on the plane ride home.

They gave Vanessa and I all these gifts!

Here is a picture with Michelle, the conference producer, and me! She gave me a plaque for being this years keynote speaker. She is an amazing event planner --the day went on without a hitch!

Here is one of my dearest friends and great work partner (Vanessa) and I. Vanessa came along to assist with all the event needs - from making sure attendees had more info about my book, to AV needs, to assuring everything around my event ran smoothly. She was super and a great traveling companion.

I LOVE YOU DALLAS!

Dallas - Here I Come!

Tomorrow I leave at 8:00 a.m. (yes it's 12:20 a.m. and I'm still packing) for Dallas to speak to 700 women on Tuesday. I will be speaking at the Dallas Convention Center (see picture). I am really excited because this is the biggest group I will have ever spoken to!

This week has been busy! On Tuesday I was honored in San Diego and met lots of fun people at a business mixer. Today I met with Lesley Miller who interviewed me for some magazines. Vanessa and I are busy with all the plans for Dallas, preparing our new website and getting the executive summary ready.
Alright, now I got to pack my hair spray and cowboy hat.
